COSPLAYERS MUST SEE:COSPLAY Kingdom (II)

Community activities: When someone member wants to organize a COS group (refer to the same series of characters), he/ she can posts in the Kingdom forum to introduce his/her ideas and the activity’s plan. People who want to participate can contact him/her. Before the activity, the participators put forward all kinds of creative ideas and arrangements for division of roles through the network, phone or meeting. The whole participate process is open; they have cos ways according to their own interests, so every time the number of participators is not fixed.

If shooting a static outdoor scene, then they do not need to rehearse; if performing on the stage of an anime expo or COSPLAY show, they must repeatedly rehearse. For the characters to imitate, the goal of every COSPLAYER is a unity of form and spirit, that is, not just similar in cosplay costumes or models, but also read the comics, or conquer the game to fully understand the character, and then threw theirselves into the role. Cosplay costumes are designed and by COSPLAYER look for tailors to make or bought in COSPLAY stores. Usually, a cosplay outfits costs 200-400 RMB, so the COS cost is also great.

COSPLAY Kingdom has its own clothing store which is specializing in all kinds of cosplay costumes in Xujiahui District. The store is called a relay point for COS activities, also a communication place of exhibition’s sponsor and COSPLAY organizers. So far, COSPLAY Kingdom has cosed “12 KOKUKI”, “SAINT SEIYA”, “NARUTO”, “GIRL’S SIDE” and so on.

Creative effects: COSPLAY Kingdom’s founder MINAKO has also participated in anime expo several times. She won “THE BEST COSPLAY” of Cartoon King, the championship of anime intelligence COSPLAY show, the “Outstanding Contribution Award” of Cartoon Carnival and the COSPLAY Highest Popularity Award in 2002. COSPLAY Kingdom has won “Best Group Performance Award” in 2002 and 2003, the “Best Costume Award” in Cartoon King Show and the “Best Actress Award” and so on.
